MATTE BLVCK + VOID PALACE – July 12, 2025

Another stellar collaboration between Sound N Vision and Disorder Presents! Matte Blvck is one of the hottest darkwave / industrial bands right now, and with good reason! This supremely-talented trio have had a meteoric rise in the goth/darkwave scene and it was a project born out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Making a name for themselves on their own accord, they are known for blending brooding beats with industrial edge reminiscent of their clear influences of Depeche Mode & Nine Inch Nails. Their sophomore album, Vows, is an ambitious exploration of shadowy soundscapes and melancholic melodies pushing their boundaries while keeping their roots intact. If that wasn’t enough, their new album also  features a collaboration with darkwave pioneers Clan of Xymox.

Opening for them was another up-and-comer from Los Angeles VOID PALACE, whose minimalist approach to darkwave follows a brooding pattern of darkly sensual bass grooves topped off by shrill synth leads with his whispering delivery.

They also signed my copy of their first album “I’m Waving Not Drowning”, so they’re also awesome and very chill guys in person as well.
