10 students in class today and each got a camera while we took a quick stroll through the campus to start shooting our first roll of film. I don’t care how good the shots are for right now, I just want you guys to get familiar with the camera. Creativity will come later. One cannot foster creativity without understanding.
Your first full handout for class will be BASICS OF THE CAMERA: Choose a Camera & Film. It is only 4 pages long, but it is packed with information about the camera, its parts, the names of these parts, and a primer on how to choose film and its characteristics. Please print one out to keep in your binders or, if you guys have access to an iPod Touch, or tablet like an iPad or an Android Tablet, you can load it onto the device so you can view it electronically.
