I’ve long been a supporter of everything Sequoia Riverlands Trust does. Today, they opened a site I’ve never been to before—Lewis Hill in Porterville, CA—to show off something that you can only really see here in Central California: the striped adobe lily. The striped adobe lily is actually an endangered flower and only grows for a very short time out of the year here on Lewis Hill. To my knowledge, it only grows in very few spots in the world and they’re all located here in Tulare and Kern counties.
Bonus shoutout to local photography legend Ron Ludekens at The Creator’s Palette for the shot of me literally in the weeds trying to capture these photos with my macro lens.
